EVA Flags: Missing Prior Living Situation Subsidy Type

Missing Prior Living Situation Subsidy Type

Why this happens: This is a missing data error caused by an incomplete follow-up question in the Prior Living Situation section of the enrollment.

When a response is selected that indicates the client was living in a subsidized unit right before entering your project (Rental by client, with ongoing housing subsidy), HUD data standards require you to specify the exact type of assistance this client is receiving. The system flags this because the mandatory conditional drop-down question “Rental Subsidy Type” was left blank.

     How to fix it:

1. Locate the project entry enrollment that contains the error.
2. Use backdate mode when available; for shelter enrollments, backdate manually, within entry/exit assessment, because this function is locked. For PATH enrollments, switch to Enter Data As (EDA) mode. This is not required to fix errors or warnings for other project enrollments.

3. Click the edit pencil icon next to the project start date.
4. Scroll down to the Prior Living Situation section.
5. Review the selection for the client’s previous living situation.
6. Look directly under that field for the drop-down box next to “Rental Subsidy Type”

7. Review your intake notes to identify the specific type of subsidy the client was receiving.

8. Select the correct option from the drop-down menu. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and save & exit.
