Missing Previously Unsheltered, ES, SH
Why this
happens: This is a
missing data error that is caused by an incomplete follow-up question. When a
non-homeless environment is selected as a client’s Prior Living Situation (such
as Transitional Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing, or an institutional
setting like a hospital or jail), HUD data standards require you to establish
if they had a recent history of homelessness immediately before entering that
setting.
The system
flags this because of this mandatory conditional question, “Did you stay on the
streets, in an emergency shelter, or a safe haven the night before?”, was left
unanswered.
How to
fix this:
1. Find the project entry enrollment with the
error.
2. Use backdate mode when available; for shelter
enrollments, backdate manually, within entry/exit assessment, because this
function is locked.
3. Click the edit pencil icon next to the project
start date. Scroll down to the Prior Living Situation/Housing History section.
4. Look directly below the prior living situation
and length of stay questions.
5. Review your intake notes to find the client’s
response.
6. Click the drop-down box and select Yes or No
7. Click Save & Exit at the bottom of the
screen.
